Renovated classical villa living room with preserved architectural detailing, restored marble flooring, contemporary furniture, warm neutral interiors, and statement lighting.

Harmony Of Eras

A thoughtful renovation of a 7,500 sq.ft. classical villa that preserves its architectural character while reimagining the spaces that shape everyday living. By retaining what was built to last and upgrading what no longer served its purpose, the home bridges timeless craftsmanship with contemporary comfort.

Not every renovation begins with the need to start over. Sometimes, the strongest design decision is knowing what deserves to stay.

Harmony of Eras is a renovation of a 15-year-old, 7,500 Sq.Ft. classical villa that proves meaningful transformation doesn't always begin with demolition. From the outset, it was clear that the home possessed qualities worth preserving - well-proportioned spaces, timeless architectural detailing, solid wooden doors and windows, and marble flooring that had aged beautifully over the years. Instead of replacing these elements, the design focused on enhancing the way the home would serve its next chapter.

The intervention was concentrated where it mattered most. Every bedroom, bathroom, and the kitchen were completely redesigned with contemporary layouts, upgraded plumbing fixtures, modern finishes, and improved functionality. The existing marble flooring, still in excellent condition after 15 years, was restored and re-polished rather than replaced - a conscious decision that reflects our belief that good design also means recognising what already has value.

While the private spaces underwent significant transformation, the common areas were refreshed through carefully considered additions rather than dramatic changes. Layered lighting replaced conventional fixtures, curated furniture and artwork introduced warmth, and full-height curtains, fluted glass, and contemporary detailing complemented the villa's classical architecture without competing with it. Throughout the home, warm browns and soft neutral tones were selected to work in harmony with the existing timber elements, allowing the old and the new to feel naturally connected.

The greatest challenge was never choosing between classical and contemporary design - it was ensuring that both could coexist without one overpowering the other. Harmony of Eras demonstrates that renovation isn't measured by how much is changed, but by how thoughtfully change is introduced. By preserving what was built to last and upgrading only what the home truly needed, the villa begins a new chapter while honouring the one that came before.
