Lustre Living

Lustre Living is a 3,500 sq.ft. duplex apartment in L.B. Nagar, Hyderabad, designed for a joint family of nine. Home to both younger and older generations, the project centred on creating a balance between lively shared spaces and private areas that catered to different lifestyles, ensuring the home felt equally comfortable for everyone.

The lower level was planned as the social hub of the home, anchored by a spacious open kitchen with an island and generous storage designed to support the demands of a large family. Upstairs, dedicated spaces such as a children’s bedroom with an attached play balcony and a bar unit for the younger parents introduce moments of individuality while remaining connected to the overall design language.

A warm palette of veneer runs throughout the home, complemented by durable laminate finishes in the bedrooms for easy maintenance. The double-height staircase wall, clad in marble and mirror, creates a striking focal point, while gold metal profile accents and coordinated feature walls add layers of sophistication without overwhelming the interiors.

The result is a home that feels elegant, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed for everyday family life. Lustre Living demonstrates that designing for a large family is not simply about accommodating more people - it is about understanding how different generations live and creating spaces that allow them to remain connected without giving up their individual routines.
